In Memory of Sara Elizabeth Sawick

St. Kateri Tekakwitha School

In May 2016, Sara’s mom, Maria Sawick, traveled to Jicaro, Nueva Segovia, Nicaragua to dedicate a school in Sara’s name. The school, St. Kateri Tekakwitha is named after Sara’s favorite saint and also the name she chose for her confirmation name: Sara Elizabeth Kateri Sawick.

The residents refer to their community as the United Family community-which is appropriate as we feel united and grateful to all of you. There are no words to use to describe how beautiful this district of Nicaragua is...there are 'cloud forests' because the mountains are so high the trees pierce the clouds. ❤️🐞🐢
